happiness is...

asking for a size 27 or 28, crossing my fingers i dont have to ask for a bigger size after trying, being told i'd need a 26, and actually fitting in!:-)

saturday was a super tiring day, spent the day at mummy's english centre, keeping her company, reading my harry potter book, and attempting my biomedical project (which till now makes no sense, though i've deciphered the topic!). some of the students are plain pesky and some of the older ones are even b**chy! had to cancel on lionel (so sorry, darling!) and was supposed to meet hong weng also (promise to meet u soon... really...)

then today! :-) went for 10.30 mass, then headed for klcc! MEGASALE! MEGASALE! MEGASALE! along with chocolate, it's like a little piece of heaven.. eheh ok im exaggerating, im not THAT shallow. but Dan finished his altarserver's meeting early so we went to midvalley for lunch at Siam Kitchen then shopped till 4.30! i didnt even realise it was that late till i saw the car clock on our way home! :-) bought a new pair of boots! one pair of shorts! and another pair of shorts! and this amazing pink cross necklace and this superbly unique bracelet... feel so happy! shopping really does boost endorphin levels! :-)

havent swam since thursday. sigh...
i really wonder what i'd wish for had God posed the very question he asked of Solomon, to me... *grins evil-ly... megasale all year round with a bottomless bank account! :-) they shud sell cinema tickets at discounted prices too, since it IS the megasale... (starts singing "if like ol' King Solomon the Lord gave me the task, of asking what i want from him, for these three gifts i'll ask... i'll ask for Faith Hope and Charity... bla bla bla)

anyways, God bless my darling mummy and dearest daddy. God bless my darling sister and baby brother. God bless my Godma, Mi, Papa and the countless relatives i have... God bless all my friends from Melawati. God bless the Johannians i know. God bless my INTEC friends. God bless my RCSI friends and all the friends who are dear to me. God bless all my friends in friendster. God bless the government for my scholarship, the scholarship allowance and for implementing the Megasale! God bless my efforts to lose weight and be a good girl! God bless everyone who asked me to pray for them, for everyone who was nice to me, and esp those who weren't(hehehe being good here...). Most Sacred Heart of Jesus i place all my trust in You. Holy Spirit, give me strength... Muax, world!

JobInterview Question

You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy
night. You pass by a bus stop, and you see three
people waiting for the bus:

1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect man (or) woman you have been
dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to,
knowing that there could only be one passenger in
your car.

Think before you continue reading. This is a
moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually
used as part of a job application.

You could pick up the old lady, because she is
going to die, and
thus you should save her first;
or you could take the old friend because he once
saved your life, and this would be the perfect
chance to pay him back.

However, you may never be able to find your
perfect dream lover again.

The candidate who was hired (out of 200
applicants) had no trouble coming up with his
answer.

He simply answered: "I would give the car keys to
my old friend, and let him take the lady to the
hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus
with the woman of my dreams."

i can't teach to save my life! ;-)

today's my darling maternal grandmother's birthday. Magdalene Jacinta Leony Alberto-Boudville turns 67 today! :-) went for lunch with my Mi and Papa, Mummy, gracie and dan at cozy corner in great eastern mall. wah that place quite affordable, i expected a meal to be about rm10, but the price range was abt rm5-7. and the drinks came in cups and glasses of all sorts of shapes and sizes. cute! and the shopping there isn't bad too. it's exclusive and nice. and we saw these two adorable cocker spaniels in the petshop. they looked so kesian and adorable. can't stand cats though.

today, mummy was sick and yet she still went to teach in the morning, and went to meet my grandma for lunch. tmrw, mummy has an exam. so i decided to go and accompany my mom and 'try' to help her teach. hehe i seriously don't think i have the patience, but i didnt enjoy helping them with their choral reading (speaking?) of a poem in charlie and the chocolate factory by roald dahl... :-) and mummy could sneak off and do a bit of studying once in awhile. i kinda enjoyed it, so another round tmrw! :-)

the end of my anti-social era...

hehe kicked off meeting my friends with meeting jarod for mamak on friday first... the only friends i met before that was mira cause she came down from penang... and i really miss her! was nice chatting with jarod... cause our crapping is usually confined to the virtual world and hey, jarod does have some pretty interesting ideas...

then on saturday i went swimming at the club, then gracie, who was out, calls dan and tells him lorraine called her to ask me to go mamak.. then i suddenly rmbr that it's aaron's birthday. so call aaron, call andrew, text lorraine and before i know it, i'm in deen's (the place that replaced our post office, still dunno how a government property can be ousted!). it was so nice to see lorraine after so long, ei leen, andrew, hari, how and aaron also, cause he drived, picked me up and sent me home... (Happy 21st birthday, dear!)... andrew kept talking how when he bangs his forehead his molar hurt, then hari decided to ask the mamak fella why 'ladna' was ladna and what went in... trust them to crack me up. then lorraine and i notice this guy, who was so chun, he looked like mat salleh mixed... in a timberland beanie (do note this guy, known from hereon as "mr timberland). hehe he was quite cute.. ok, VERY cute (in MY opinion la)then by 12 something, we headed home cause almost everyone had church the next day...

then on monday, i met lorraine in klcc to start our surveying in anticipation of the megasale! lorraine went and sapu-ed the whole McD bracelet collection for the week. then surprise surprise, we saw mr timberland! :-) but he was with a malay girl, presumably his gf... soothing for the eyes nonetheless, see only, not touching! :-) then we decided we needed a dose of brad pitt, so we caught mr and mrs smith though both of us had already watched it! :-) then after the movie, we decided to get ice cream from the ice cream parlour in the food court. then lorraine started making eyes, though she'd deny this, at the fella behind the counter... hehe anyways, we sampled the ice-cream and i chose a 'half and half' in a cup and lorraine bought this single scoop in a wafer boat. we sat down to enjoy the ice cream, this fella brought over this flavour i sampled, jamaican chocolate(absolutely delicious!) ice cream on a waffle, for free! hahaha so flattering and so shy... i jelak, then we headed back.. really had a nice time, girl!

anyways, after my outing with my intec friends, i saw rosalind at the lrt station...
feels sooooooo nice to be seeing my friends. sometimes, it gets lonely when the few ppl i consider closest to me aren't always available, but seeing the other people God has blessed me with, has me counting my blessings... i'm so grateful for u all, and love u all so very much.

pek leng's birthday...

went to midvalley today to meet up with chuey ee, karen, pek leng, paik ling, shirley, chan see, sue choo, ming ying, kha hong, su miin, glen, siu ann and yew ewe! wah so nice to see them again... really really miss my intec friends, esp my apartment-mates.. hehe and i realised all my intec friends all very pretty one.. some more smart! who said JPA scholars were nerdy? i felt so happy, just sitting there... contented and safe being among friends... :-) love u all soooo much... we watched the movie "crying out love, in the centre of the world" this japanese movie in gsc... was quite draggy, and classic love story, but some of them cried! :-) then we went to secret recipe for tea.. though we walked to the outside of starbucks, then went in, then finally settled for secret recipe! then pek leng wanted to go to shah alam for her birthday dinner, but i couldnt go... but have a happy 21st birthday, dearest pek leng! was so great to see u all, my darling friends... and... happy 19th birthday to jo dear too!

uluru...

the other day, a friend of mine came and told me about his holiday in central australia to visit the ayers rock there. they went in two busloads and spent about 11 days there. and then right, i laughed cause i was naive and ignorant me never heard of it. then today i watched this japanese love story, "Crying out love, in the center of the world" in the international screen in gsc midvalley and half of the story centred on the girl, Hirose Aki, asking the guy, Saku to scatter her ashes in uluru cause to her it was a sacred place to the Aborigines and to her as well, and to her, it was like the centre of the world. then i did some research and it seems the rock can change colours, from blue to red! (for more info: http://www.crystalinks.com/ayersrock.html) so now i owe that friend an apology... :-) and i learnt something new abt the world!

gorgeous guys galore... haha!

these guys have adorned my laptop wallpaper at one point or another in the 8 months i was away from home. :-)therapeutic to the eyes and tremendously effective in remedying homesickness!

aaaahhh... :-) he makes uni-life seem sexy!

andrea was the hardest to track down... but worth all the effort! ;-)

beckham's old... alonso's the new athletic hunk! and with the risk of sounding really shallow (everyone has their moments ya?), it's all true sports faculty aside...

reminiscing...

a picture with a few of the people who've touched my life in many ways since october 2004.

this picture never fails to amaze me, esp when i think that i was actually there... wow! :-)

one of the first few shots i took in dublin... really love this shot...

wow

-Truth Is- Fantasia Barrino
Ran into an old friend yesterday
Caught me by surprise when he called my name
He was a familiar face, from a chapter in my past
Talked for a while, I smiled and then
Said that he was seeing somebody and
Told me this was gonna last
Showing me her photograph

And all the feelings I thought were gone
Came rushing back to me at once
Tried to smile and hide the way I felt
But I was thinking to myself

(Truth is) I never got over you
(Truth is) Wish I was standing in her shoes
(Truth is) And when it's all said and done
Guess I’m still I love with you
(Truth is) I never should have let you go
(Truth is) And it's killing me cuz now I know
(Truth is) And when it's all said and done
Guess I’m still I love with you

We reminisce on the way things used to be
Shed a couple laughs, shed some memories
Talked about the things that changed
Some for good and some for bad
Then he said good-bye and he paid for brunch
Promised that we'd always keep in touch
Grabbed my bags and grabbed my furs, walked away and that was that

And all the feelings I thought were gone
Came rushing back to me at once
Tried to smile and hide the way I felt
But I was thinking to myself

(Truth is) I never got over you
(Truth is) Wish I was standing in her shoes
(Truth is) And when it's all said and done
Guess I’m still I love with you
(Truth is) I never should have let you go
(Truth is) And it's killing me cuz now I know
(Truth is) And when it's all said and done
Guess I’m still I love with you

Now the truth is it hurts but I that the fault mines
‘Cuz I let him go
Tried to get over it but it's messed up he's not mine (Because I know)

(Truth is) I never got over you
(Truth is) Wish I was standing in her shoes
(Truth is) And when it's all said and done
Guess I’m still I love with you
(Truth is) I never should have let you go
(Truth is) And it's killing me cuz now I know
(Truth is) And when it's all said and done
Guess I’m still I love with you

candles

picked this from a friendster buletin... :-) haven't seen this around...

Mr.Sharma comes home one
night, and his wife throws her arms
around his neck: "I have great news: I'm a
month overdue. I think we're going to have a baby!
The doctor gave me a test today, but until we find out for sure, we can't tell anybody."
The next day, Mrs. Sharma
receives a telephone call from BSES (Bombay Suburban Electricity
Supply) because the electricity bill has not been paid.
Am I speaking to Mrs. Sharma ? "
"Yes...... speaking"
BSES guy, "You're a month
overdue, you know!"
"How do YOU know?" stammers the young woman.
"Well, ma'am, it's in our files!" says the BSES guy .
"What are you saying? It's in
your files ..... HOW ?????"
" Yes ............. We have a
system of finding out who's overdue "
" GOD !!!!!!......... this is too much.........."
"Madam, I am sorry...... I am following orders.... I have to inform you are overdue"
"I know that ....... let me talk to my husband about this
tonight, he will speak to your company tomorrow "

That night, she tells her husband about the visit, and he, mad as a bull, rushes to BSES office the next day morning.
"What's going on? You have it on file that my wife is a month overdue? What business is that of yours?" the husband shouts.
"Just calm down," says the lady at the reception at BSES,
"it's nothing serious. All you have to do is pay us."
"PAY you? and if I refuse?"
"Well, in that case, sir, we'd have no option but to cut yours off."
"And what would my wife do then?" the husband asks.
"I don't know. I guess she'd have to use a candle!!!"

feelings... :-)

1. super proud of my darling cousin, Henrietta Albela who ploughed her way through the much dreaded STPM, without any tuition mind you! and now, with much glee, i announce that she's studying medicine in UNIMAS, fulfilling her dream and soon the three of us can open clinic! :-) all the best, darling cousin!

2. my sister finished her A levels and is preparing to leave for india pretty soon. now this produces a concoction of feelings in me. pride that she's come this far and survived KTT too, but sad that she'll be leaving and it'd be a super long time before we're all staying at home together. and im also anxious about my little sister surviving in the rough world out there. i've been there, and i've had it easy, kinda wish she didnt have to go through this... ANYWAYS, i know she's one tough lady whom no one can push around! no one can mess with my little sister!

3. have been putting off actually meeting anyone since coming home. the first ppl i went out to meet were actually eugene and mira when mira came down from penang. then i finally went yumcha with everyone and i can't imagine or even fathom what ever kept me from meeting up with them. it feels great to be around ppl whom i know where they're coming from, their attitude when they were in school, and all the memories we shared. all the new acquaintances i've met since then have needed a lot of getting-to-know and even then, there are some masks that just refuse to come off. am so happy to have caught up with my old friends. truly love them all so much.

4. and the feelings in the previous post! :-)

will definitely blog about today's outing, unless lorraine also does, and i jsut have to link it! :-)

tergamak...

just wanted to record this feeling, cause i really dont wanna feel like this ever again.
-----> i'm hurt, sad and disappointed in you, that my friendship means so little to you...

very short post...

haha lorraine complained i never blog so will just post a super short one, just to get the ball rolling ya?
i picked these up while browsing through friendster. huda gets credit for the first one, and i think gowri posted the second one in her profile... found it to be utterly profound.

very tired cause i slept at 4, dating with my darling Harry Potter! :-) and woke up at 9 to meet lorraine for a shopping spree, shop for baju, earrings, and also guy-hawking! hehe super fun will blog abt it later. though i also dunno who reads this...
